He’s darling! Such a beautiful baby! And I’m glad you were kidding – I rather like the idea of having something my kids can watch themselves grow on!

Would it be rude if I said that with that hat he looks a tiny bit like a smurf?
Yes it probably would. I’ll constrain myself to just making appropriate cooing noises.

God, that takes me straight back to the same place. Isn’t he gorgeous? And Dan, they all look like smurfs at one hour old – surely you remember? :)
